Residents invited to share ideas for evolving urban spaces

Kelowna residents, workers, and visitors are invited to voice their opinions on improvements to the city’s five Urban Centres as the areas continue to develop. Over the next two weeks, City staff will engage with the community at various locations across town, offering a chance to exchange ideas, ask questions, or gain insights into the ongoing projects in Rutland, Downtown, Pandosy, Capri-Landmark, and Midtown.

Urban Centres are pivotal to Kelowna, hosting the city’s highest concentration of varied uses such as residences, offices, retail, dining, schools, and parks. ‘Our Urban Centres have the potential to accommodate over 40 percent of Kelowna’s future residential growth in the coming decades, and we want to learn about residents’ priorities for the future of these dynamic neighborhoods,’ said Tracy Guidi, a city planner.

Residents can explore self-guided, interactive displays set up at outlined locations if attending in person is not possible. For those unable to visit, online engagement is available until April 6, 2025, on the City’s engagement website. This platform also offers a venue for providing feedback on the ongoing Transit Supportive Corridor Pilot project.

Participation in these discussions is a valuable opportunity to influence the future of Kelowna’s urban communities. Interested parties are encouraged to visit getinvolved.kelowna.ca to complete a survey, submit ideas, ask questions, and learn more about the initiatives underway.
