The exercises will prompt localized closures at Knox Mountain Park.
The Kelowna Fire Department will conduct wildfire training exercises at Knox Mountain on Wednesday, May 28, resulting in temporary closures of the Boyce Trail and picnic area in the park’s upper section.
Assistant Fire Chief Dennis Craig, responsible for Mitigation & Prevention, advises park users to adhere to trail restrictions and remain clear of restricted training zones to ensure public safety.
Scheduled training will occur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Boyce Marsh area, with other park sections staying open. Changes to the schedule will be communicated if needed.
