Significant improvements underway at Prospera Place with major equipment installations planned.
Important equipment associated with Kelowna’s investment to enhance the visitor experience at Prospera Place has arrived this week.
A new scoreboard and audio system are set for installation throughout the summer. The interior will remain an active construction zone during the implementation phase.
“The improvements at Prospera Place are well underway, with enhanced public WiFi already operational and scoreboard installation commencing,” said Stefanie Wiik, Senior Project Manager. “The city is investing $5.1 million to prepare for the 2026 Memorial Cup.”
Additional improvements funded by the city include sound system upgrades and 98-inch display screens within concession areas, with assistance from GSL Group.
Electric charging stations are anticipated to be installed for two new Zambonis arriving in August. This aligns with Kelowna’s commitment to reduced emissions and enhanced indoor air quality, supporting better health.
“These upgrades represent our commitment to the facility, our community, and Kelowna’s capacity to attract major events,” said Mayor Dyas. “They will ensure Prospera Place meets world-class standards for various events, both now and in the future.”
