The session aims to equip parents with essential knowledge on online safety.
The City of Kelowna, alongside the Central Okanagan School District’s Welcome Centre, is inviting parents and guardians to attend an upcoming free session on community safety.
This event, part of a series, will focus on ‘Raising Digitally Responsible Youth,’ providing essential insights into online safety.
A City Community Safety Advisor will address several pressing issues, including online sexual exploitation, differentiating real and risky internet relationships, online luring and grooming, and dangers associated with social media apps.
Participants will learn about reporting unsafe digital activities and accessing additional resources for digital safety.
The session is scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Springvalley Elementary School in Kelowna.
The presentation, conducted in English, is open to all, and registration is available online.
