Temporary closure will allow for pond improvements starting June 23
Beginning Monday, June 23, Kasugai Gardens will be temporarily closed to the public for maintenance and improvement work to the pond.
The park is expected to remain closed until work is completed in mid-July. During the closure, the koi fish will be safely moved to temporary on-site pools while the pond undergoes maintenance.
Workers will drain the pond, thoroughly clean it, and inspect for any leaks or damage. Necessary repairs will be made to the pond liner before refilling and returning the fish to their improved environment.
This maintenance is a necessary step in preparing for the installation of a new filtration system this fall, which will improve water quality and better support fish health.
The City of Kelowna and parks crews appreciate your patience and cooperation while this work takes place.
