Central Okanagan’s Regional Emergency Program seeks input for evacuation preparedness.

Residents of Kelowna and neighboring communities are encouraged to provide feedback on the Regional Evacuation Route Planning Initiative.

The Central Okanagan Regional Emergency Program is inviting public involvement to better understand evacuation responses and destinations. This input is crucial for creating a safer, more coordinated emergency response.

“We aim to make the evacuation process streamlined and safe,” said Brittany Seibert, Regional Emergency Manager. “Public input supports planning efforts that respect local knowledge and include considerations for livestock areas or those with mobility needs.”

Emergencies can develop quickly, and understanding resident responses aids emergency teams in their preparation.

Feedback will be combined with insights from first responders, emergency experts, and transportation models.

Residents can participate by visiting YourSay.RDCO.com. Printed copies are available via [email protected] or by calling 250-469-8600. The survey closes on August 4.

Participants who complete the survey can enter a draw for one of four $50 Visa Gift Cards. The draw occurs by August 8.

The contest is open to residents of Kelowna, West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, Lake Country, Peachland, and the Central Okanagan’s Electoral Areas East and West.
