Kelowna prepares for a day full of celebrations with new features and essential closures.

Canada Day celebrations are set to unfold across multiple venues in Kelowna on Tuesday, July 1. Events in Waterfront Park, Stuart Park, Rotary Centre for the Arts Commons, and Prospera Place will kick off at 11 a.m., wrapping up at 10 p.m.

A highlight this year is the revitalized Waterfront Park stage, which will be used for the first time following its recent refurbishment. Detailed event information and schedules can be accessed at festivalskelowna.com.

Residents should prepare for traffic adjustments with Water Street closed between Cawston Avenue and Sunset Drive from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The boat locks at Waterfront Park will also be shut from 6 a.m. on July 1 until 8 a.m. the following day.

Parking will be impacted with the Dolphins parking lot closed from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday. Portions of the City Hall lot will share the same closures. While the Prospera Place parking lot remains open, access is limited to Cawston Avenue. Vehicles left overnight will be towed.

Visitors should note that setup activities will close off portions of the lakefront promenade on Monday, June 30, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Access to the park then is possible via Rhapsody Plaza on Water Street.

Parking availability in downtown Kelowna, including Library Plaza, Memorial, and Chapman Parkades, is updated at kelowna.ca/parking. Citizens are encouraged to use alternative transport options such as biking and walking.

City Hall will be closed on July 1 for Canada Day. Residents should plan to pay property taxes ahead of the July 2 deadline, with details available at kelowna.ca/propertytax.

The Parkinson Recreation Centre will operate on a reduced schedule from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for public activities as listed on kelowna.ca/prc.

The Glenmore Landfill continues regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., while cemetery gates at Kelowna Memorial Park remain open, though its administration office will be closed.

Access to online city services remains uninterrupted through kelowna.ca/onlineservices.
