City Park hosts car show with potential traffic disruptions in downtown.
The CSN Collision Father’s Day Car Show is scheduled to return to City Park on Sunday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Traffic routes throughout the downtown core will remain operational as participants arrive with their vehicles. However, drivers should anticipate lane and parking restrictions along Leon Avenue, Water Street, Lawrence Avenue, and Abbott Street from 6 to 11 a.m. on Sunday as traffic control personnel manage the influx.
City Park’s parking lot will be off-limits starting at 5:30 a.m. on June 15 to facilitate event setups, and will stay closed until 5 p.m. Accessible parking remains available, despite closures around children’s play areas and grass layouts used for vehicles and vendors.
The load-out of vehicles from City Park will initiate at 2 p.m., with the main parking lot reopening for public use after 5 p.m. once everything is cleared.
Motorists can check parking availability at the Library Plaza Parkade, Memorial Parkade, and Chapman Parkade through the city’s website.
Residents are encouraged to alleviate traffic and parking pressure by opting for biking, walking, or carpooling as alternative transport methods.
Up-to-date information on roadworks, closures, and traffic conditions can be found on the city’s road report webpage.
