Residents invited to participate in biking events and win prizes
GoByBike Week in Kelowna and the Central Okanagan begins Saturday, offering free events and activities from May 31 to June 6. Participants can log their trips for a chance to win prizes sponsored by local businesses.
Suzanne Therrien, the Transportation Planner, highlighted the benefits of the initiative, which encourages a healthy lifestyle and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The new transportation corridors on Sutherland, Leckie, and Ballou make Kelowna a bike-friendly city.
Celebration Stations will be set up throughout the Central Okanagan, providing activities and giveaways, thanks to local businesses and sponsors. The schedule of these stations is available online.
Throughout the week, local businesses will host community stations offering refreshments, snacks, discounts, and activities. More location details can be found on the community webpage.
Participants can register at gobybike.ca to log their rides and enter to win prizes like a grand cycling adventure in Vietnam, a Pedego Electric Bike, and various local gifts. The local grand prize is a 2025 Giant Roam eBike.
