City to Resurface 14 Road Segments to Enhance Safety and Reduce Costs
The City of Kelowna is commencing its annual road renewal program this month, focusing on resurfacing 14 road segments covering roughly 20 kilometers. This effort aims to extend road lifespan, cut long-term maintenance expenses, and ensure a smoother, safer journey for motorists and cyclists.
An investment of approximately $4 million will be allocated toward pavement management, with the completion slated for September 30, 2025. Asphalt resurfacing plays a crucial role in mending damage and enhancing roadway quality.
These paving projects are integral to the annual road renewal program, which oversees the maintenance of Kelowna’s 1,690 kilometers of municipal roads. The City conducts regular monitoring and testing to identify and prioritize roads in need of renewal. Consistent renewal helps preserve road infrastructure over time, preventing the need for widespread replacements simultaneously.
The public is urged to heed signage and traffic safety personnel, as all efforts will be made to minimize disruptions for road users, residents, and businesses.
