Annual awards honor outstanding contributions to Kelowna community and youth education.

The winners of the 50th annual Civic and Community Awards were announced at a ceremony held at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort.

Finalists and recipients of the Civic & Community Awards were celebrated for their efforts in bringing a positive impact to the city in 2024.

Young Citizen of the Year finalists will receive scholarships through the Payton and Dillon Budd Memorial Fund. The winner receives $2,000 and the two additional finalists get $1,000 each.

The Teen Honour in the Arts award comes with a $500 entrance scholarship to the University of British Columbia Okanagan, provided by the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies.

The Volunteer Organization of the Year will be awarded a $3,000 donation from the Central Okanagan Foundation.

The event was supported by sponsors including Peter’s Your Independent Grocer, Central Okanagan Foundation, FortisBC, and the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan, among others.

Nominations for the next Civic & Community Awards will open in winter 2025.
