Road closures and parking restrictions planned ahead of the Sikh spring celebration.
The annual Vaisakhi Parade is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, and will commence from the Okanagan Sikh Temple. This event marks the Sikh celebration of the spring harvest.
In preparation for the parade, several roads, including Sumac Road, Sycamore Road, Wallace Road, and Ortt Road, will be limited to local traffic only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rolling closures will occur from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., with flaggers positioned at intersections to assist in directing traffic.
Parking restrictions will be enforced along the parade route starting at 9 a.m. Spectators are encouraged to park at Rutland Middle School and Rutland Secondary School. Shuttle buses will be available to transport participants to and from the Okanagan Sikh Temple.
