Kelowna’s parks and beaches set to welcome more visitors as spring approaches.
Kelowna, British Columbia, is preparing for the seasonal influx of visitors to its parks and beaches with the arrival of spring, despite a recent unexpected snowfall.
Beginning March 15, Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery will operate on extended hours, opening daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. until October 15.
Only fresh cut flowers are permitted on grave sites to allow for ground maintenance, and candles are prohibited due to fire risks. Items from the adornment refresh will be available for collection until April 1.
Kasugai Gardens, a symbol of the long-standing friendship between Kelowna and its sister city Kasugai, Japan, will open on March 17, with varying daily hours until October 31.
Public restrooms in Kelowna parks are scheduled to open on April 1, subject to weather conditions.
Ball diamonds will open on April 4, followed by other sports fields on April 11, pending weather compliance for seasonal maintenance.
